Your wedding day is one of those moments in your life that will touch your heart forever. Don't toss your bouquet... Preserve your wedding flowers to capture the moment for years of enjoyment! Freeze Dry your bridal bouquet. Freeze Dry floral preservation method is ranked #1 by good housekeeping Magazine for appearance and longvity.
How is freeze drying different from other forms of floral preservation?
Freeze drying (lyophilization) is accomplished by submilation of the moisture from the botanicals. The flowers are frozen and the moisture is vaccumed from the cell structure, which gives less than 1% shrinkage of the flower. Freeze drying process from time your flowers are put into the machine to when they are completely dry takes 10 to 14 days. Air drying the flower, the cell structure collapses and causes shrinkage. Sand and old fashioned borax formulas use products that pull too much moisture and color from the flowers. Both forms of drying leave the final product brittle and fragile.
All florals that are preserved need to be protected from the environment of dust and humidity. A reliable preservationalist will have th knowledge of post treatments to seal the cell structure from reabsorbing moisture and helping retain the sugar molecule (color) from breaking down.
After your wedding bouquet is preserved you have a wide variety of options to keepsake your flowers. You can add one or several items to your keepsake, for example, your invitation, program, tiara and jewelry, gloves and veil.
